Need tips on drag racing at a drag strip.

All responses are welcome I'm going take my Mustang to Miland Drag way Sat. If it don't rain to see what kind of times I can get from the old Stang.

This will be the first time I have raced on a drag strip.Should I hold the petal to the rev-limiter and pop the clutch at the green light ?

I need tips from the time I get there to the time I leave the drag strip

I assume those are street tires so all you will do by dumping the clutch is the o sit-N-spin.You will need to test were your line between spin and traction is and leave at that rpm.Stage in the same manner and spot each time and leave on the LAST YELLOW.

SpongeBob, My only tip for you is to GO FAST! As fast as you can and then some, and eat those other boy's/girl's right up!

walk the track before you run so you can see where everything is. the first time i went down the 1/4 i had no idea where to let off, so i let out way early( still ran a 13.29 ). after your first pass, drive it like you stole it!

I was trying to joke a little about popping the clutch, this car will fry the tires like grandma potatoes I figure my leg will be shaking so bad that I might pee my depends

I figure I will have to slip the clutch,to make it work.My car does not have the P-head or e-cam in yet (they have been on my bench for a long time),but I really want to get a time with the non molested block (69,000 miles) I'm thinking of getting a 306 block from Fox Lake this winter, than put the new heads and new cam on the new block
