Im considering selling my 1970 Fastback Mustang. It is an original M code car (351C 4V) from the San Jose plant. It currently has a 351C 2V which I rebuilt 3 years ago and currently has 13K on the motor. The motor is pretty suped up (single plane intake, demon carb, full headers, ect) backed by a rebuilt (at the same time as the motor) C-4 with a shift kit, 2500 stall converter and a deep sump pan. The motor has been treated to nothing but royal purple after correct break-in. I had the valve covers off about 1K ago and the underside of the covers and the top of the heads/rockers looked brand new. rear end it a open 3:00, but I also have another carrier with 4:11's.
The body is in pretty good shape, but the paint is showing it's age. There are some rust bubbles showing up around the rear wheels and on the bottom of the doors. Also, the trunk is pretty rusty. The car is not a rust bucket! It's 34 years old so its to be expected. Also, in a couple places the bondo from a previous paint job is cracking. (driver side fender an on the roof by the rear window). It has a delux interior with wood mach 1 dash, mach 1 grill and other mach 1 parts. Its essently a mach 1 clone.
The suspension will need to be rebuilt. It still drives just fine, but it does not handle very well.
I really hate to sell it, but I don't have the $ to get the rust fixed and redo the suspension. Also, I do not have a covered area to store it and I cant stand to see it sit outside. Nothing would make me happier to see this car go to someone who will take care of it and treat it like it should be.
So what is my baby worth? here are a couple pics:
