Kmart buys Sears

I have a friend that bought a lifetime battery from Goodyear, it went to K-Mart & that's been 20 years & he still ges a free one. I think they're smart enough to leave that alone... Why else would you go so Sears if there was no Craftsman???

Good point. I have a Sears store right up the street and the tool department is right by the door. Don't think I've ever ventured past there into the rest of the store. But the merger could become an advantage for me because I usually buy my clothes at KMart. One stop shopping, anyone?...

Don't laugh. How do ya think Wallyworld has done what it's done!? They're going after everyone: hair stylists, optomistrists, you name it.

You got that right, Doug! Somebody could likely live in Wally's without ever leaving the store... We have supermarkets around here that are almost the same way. You can do your banking, put your kids in day care, have a capucinno and a sandwich, find a good book, get your hair done plus god knows what else while you buy your Hamburger Helper.

I think it's a case of borrowing from paul to pay peter. They borrow to buy sears to save their butts cause sears, I guess is still making money. Hopefully they don't drag sears down with them if it doesn't work.

Actually Kmart has more free money in the bank. Their last CEO seems to have a good head on his shoulder. He took over just before last Christmas when their stock was around $21. He told his stores they had plenty of over head in old merchandise and to sell that instead of buying more. They sold off many older stores and now have bookos of money in the bank and as of today their stock is selling for $117 a share. Remember one name Edward Lampert.

The guy manages a $6 Billion hedge fund. He can make it go with his pocket change

K-Mart will sell Craftsman tools now too.
