High School Stabbing
http://www.nwitimes.com/articles/200...4545566311.txt
A student brought a knife (or knives) into a local high school here in Indiana and stabbed 7 or 8 other students. One of the victims attended the the school I am principal of through last school year. Thank God none of the injuries is life threatening, but the victim that used to attend my school is having his face repaired by a plastic surgeon right now.

High School Stabbing
When are we gonna put a stop to this??? My former boos' son stabbed a kid to death on a school bus last year, got 15 months. A politician killed 2 people with his car, left 2 children without parents, walked because there was too many people that felt sad for him. We need to place more improtance on life in this country!

DISCIPLINE IS LACKING OR ATTENTION IS NOT BEING GIVEN TO THAT PERSON, and it frightens me about my own children who are taught to trust someone (their peers) 'until' they proove themselves untrustworthy. This kind of act makes me want to teach my children extreem caution in every situation and to look over their shoulders every time they move!!! THIS is NOT the AMERICA I grew up in!!!

High School Stabbing
I Feel for the parents and staff that know the kids Injored. As a school district employee I am glad to say we havent had any such things here (KNOCK ON WOOD) yet... but I'm am sorry to say I see it comming. I don't mean to be pridjoust but in the town closest to us Mostly Mexican's there is alot of violance going on and 90% of it Mexican involved. and with more Latino's comming to my school I see it comming. But maybe not here at the elementary level but at the Jr's. and high Schools levels.
...........................When well it end...............................
When parents get control back (being able to spank and disaplen, (it didn't hurt me none,) with out fear of abuse aresst), when there is only the need for one parent to work, when there is two parent homes (male, female). and the one major one

High School Stabbing
Schools have become too large. In these huge, mega-schools... kids are anonymous. There are so many teachers and students that NOBODY knows each other.
A teacher can watch a kid do something, and have no clue of finding out who he was! The teachers don't even know each other any more... let alone all the kids.
Back in the days of smaller schools, if you did something... it would likely get tracked back to you. The teachers knew and TALKED with each other. If they were having problems with a kid, they would talk with the other teachers about him and sort of 'team up' on him to get him straighten him out. It was tougher to get away with even the small stuff with everybody watching you! You didn't even THINK about the crap kids are doing now. Nowadays the kids just go from place to place anonymously.... and push the limits as far as they can, just like they did before.... but without the 'small school accountablity' that limit is WAY higher than it use to be.
Big schools look good on paper since they can offer more classes, are cheaper to run, etc.... but they let a LOT of kids slip through the cracks.
We need smaller schools. Smaller COMMUNITY based schools also get more community involvement. The parents and local businesses tend to be more of a component, and there is a lot more community pride and ownership.

Back in my day, we would go fight out or diffrences after school and become friends afterward... (*most of the time*)
Racial questionairs and profiling need to stop. IE. filling out an application for instance, and they ask your race... Us White People HAVE NO RACE! What is white??? European American??? I hate that crap, vehemently! Most of the people where I grew up didn't care if you were white or black or hispanic, or african american or native for that matter...
IMHO, racial employment quotas should not be in place in the world... "if you do the job the best you get it. Period!" Or if your boss is super HOT, then you better learn to pretend to do it best.... lol .
I don't mind being a minority... whatever the hell that "really" means anyway... I would prefer people to be treated as they treat themselves, not others...
Let's just be AMERICANS, and more friendly to everybody, (EXCEPT Radical Muslim Terrorists.... ) and have a nice day! What do y'all think??
I know this is going to get hotter than the Political post, but what the hell... I'm hitting "submit" anyway...

You got that right! The school here isn't that big but still the kids get away with a lot. I need to talk to the school now about a boy that is calling my son not so nice names that a 11-12 yr old shouldn't be saying when he gets blocked playing football. He gets mad and deliberately runs into him hard and then says he did this to me or he did that and his buddys go along with it, when all he did was stand there. The playground guards, if you want to call them that, have said nothing to the kid and it's obvious when there is a spat going on in the field. It's only a matter of time that my son is going to be in trouble over this garbage. If the kid can't play fair and take defeat along with victory then he shouldn't be playing in the first place in my opinion.
That's been my biggest complaint living here. I like it, except for the schools. My son being 5'8" and 200lbs just adds to the problem. Big dog, little dog syndrome as I call it. They either want him to be their 'body guard' (in 4th grade) and start crap and try to get him envolved or now, just try to make him look like a bully. I've seen my son get punched and everything else and not do anything to the other kid. But how much is he supposed to tolerate this? They and I are lucky he is that way when most of the kids might be 5' and weigh 75 lbs or something.
When I was in elementary school, you got in a fight or anything and it was off to the boiler room for a paddling. Not often but for repeaters. Maybe that's not the right way to handle things but it sure put the fear in the others that might be thinking of causing trouble. There will always be a few though that don't care and that type punishment they look at as making the look tough.

That's why I moved out in the far suburbs in Upstate NY. Some of the best schools in the nation and not exactly cheap to live here either. My almost 4 year old will be going to school soon and my 2 year old will be next year. I had to think of my kids and the Latino gangs and crimes in the South West where I came from is growing to epic proportions. Had to get out while I could Stabbing and shootings in the schools even in good areas where the gangs have migrated to. Rapes and selling drugs in the schools. Not one school in Albuquerque was considered "good".
"THIS is NOT the AMERICA I grew up in!!!"
That's no joke and this is not how it was when I grew up. I got to know the principal's paddle very well many times. I got punished pretty hard from my dad but was for a reason and I needed it. ...and look how I turned out....................shut up Rick/Greg/Chris/James/etc No comments from the peanut gallery
