1967 Mustang coupe

I have a 1967 mustang coupe with an in line 6cyl. It is an automatic now and I would like to stay with that. I am going to restore the body but, I want to change the motor and drive train. I have bought a 1970 351c 4V motor. I will be rebuilding the motor but, staying close to stock specs. I have not bought anything else. What are some of the things I should be considering when doing this? I will be driving this mainly on the street and will be wanting to go on cross country trips with it. Any help and suggestions would be appriciated, Thank you, Mike.

hey! Welcome to the site. You might get a better answer if you post in one of the tech forums, as not the same people surf this forum as the techs. There are lots of topics of this nature already posted, simply click on the search link something like <6 to 8 conversion> to see the posts.
Hope you enjoy your stay.
Cheers

Welcome to our site my friend!

Motor mounts, transmission cross member, throttle linkage, radiator, rearend, front spindles and related brake parts, and exhaust are about the only things that I can think of for a swap such as you will be doing.

I'm sure some of the other guys and girls that are much more knowledgeable than I can help you out more.

Good luck!

I just got done this this exact swap on my 68. You will need motor mounts, five-lug fronts, rearend, fuel line, throttle linkage from the gas pedal to the carb, radiator.

I upgraded everything. New front end, 9 inch rear, disc brakes, all new fuel pump and line, new brake lines, new MC, new tranny, tranny cooler. Just to be on the safe side. If you have any specific questions let me know.
