Who were your \"role models\" when you were a kid?

I thought a post about your "role models" as a kid could be kinda cool?

I think it will show generational role model changes that could be pretty interesting to see.....

So, who were your role models when you were a kid?

P.S. It would not be a bad idea to include how old you are with your response as it will let us see the generation you are from....

My old man, my grandpop (homesteading influence) and Eric Sloane. Eric Sloane is STILL a big one.

Other then that, various metal and bluegrass guys, my dead buddy Sam (got me started on guitar) and too many more to think about.

My dad #1. I was out in the grease with him from the time I could walk and still in diapers. Probably drove him crazy with questions when I learned to talk. I also aggrivated my mom I'm sure since pampers weren't around then. She said my dad carried me to the house one day from the garage after I had sat in one of those old coated baby bathtubs that looked like those old turkey roasters with the porcelane coating full of oil. She said that was one diaper that did NOT get washed. Then at night when I was older I'd sit in the bottom of the shower and scrub the bottom of my feet with cleanser and a scrub brush to get them clean and laugh my butt off cause it tickled so badly! I was told my favorite thing to say when my dad was hotrodding around was "peel out daddy, go real fast!!"
My heros as a youngun were Fess Parker(Daniel Boone) and Mingo the indian friend(whoever played him), later on it was Grizzly Adams. I'll still watch a movie with Fess Parker, guess I never got over him. I'm 45.
