So much for \'keeping it in the family\'...

OK, here's my dirty little secret.

I like acorns. Alot. I mean really, I just think they look cool, so while looking for some furniture with acorns on them, I ran across this...

http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Oddly enough, it's been in their family going on forever. There are TWO of these chairs, and while watching TV the other day, they 'reunited' the chairs and the 2 familys that owned them.

Then money came in the picture...

The guy on the show said 'I'd sell them for 18-22K if they were in my gallery'.

Well, I don't know if he bought it or not, but somebody bought the one chair for 10K. Maybe the other family got it? Not bloody likely.

I just thought it was funny that a old family heirloom got sold because somebody found out it was worth alot of money. Sad.

That's insane! I'd just have to collect acorns and make my own!
Speaking of acorns, when we lived in TX I found this HUGE acorn, it was between the size of a tennis ball and a pingpong ball. When I got divorced the ex got it and I haven't seen another one since. Anyone see these before? The landlord said he thought they came from a pole oak or something. Hmmm, wonder if there are any on ebay?

Here's a pic of the size of acorn I was talking about. This one was in Mexico but I found on the same forum that it's the bur oak that has the huge acorns. Make a full meal out of this one almost!!
