Cold Mountain

What an, ah, interesting movie. I've watched it twice and while I'm into the Civil War, still don't really get it.

Seems to be long on sex and violence, but short on actual plot. I don't have a problem with violence AS LONG AS IT GOES SOMEWHERE.

Maybe I missed the point, whatever that might be? To me, it's like the Titanic of the Civil War era.

I really liked more recent Civil War movies, like Gettysburg for example. This ain't it.

I thought it was a "period piece" chick flick so I ran when the wife rented it! I liked Titanic but it was mainly due to the stunning visuals of the Titanic and the special effects. Being from a shipbuilding city I guess it's in my blood!
