Old Ford. Near future project.. small pics w/ one large pic

This is an old ford which I have not had time to ig up much info on. It was also a free gift to me. (Not really free since a nice fella past away that owned it.) he left it to my dad, who then said take care of it for me.... So I have to also make room for it in the shop. Gonna Be a long weekend next weekend...

Please excuse the delapidated tarp that I had over it. I will put another on it next weekend untill I can get it in the shop.

All the parts are with it, except the seats, and the glass.

motor was run about 7 or 8 month ago.. I know, I know. why not since then.....

I wish I could get ahold of a Model A in that shape. By the time I find 'em they're always way too far gone. Take care of it.

COOL
Boy if the motor wasn't running I'd say it looks like a 302 or V6 swap time.

Nice! I bought a book on building a traditional Model A hot rod - hoping to run across some stuff to make a grandpa/grandson project.

Rebuilding one stock is a challenge. A guy I work with is going nuts over just the engine, those wonderful babbit bearings... Car looks like a great project

Probably worth more rodded than left stock. Steel bodied cars are few and far between and the boys with the bucks are glad to spend em on the real steel. Neat car. I'm thinking some Halibrand styles on the rear with the multi-spokes on the front. Toss in a blown/injected anything and you've got a killer ride!!

They are. Actually, aren't that many people restoring A Bones anymore. There used to be a lot of stock Model A activity..my dad and uncle belonged to our local club in the '60s, but most of the guys who were interested in 'em have passed on. BTW, that's a '30 from what I see.

I have a BUNCH of visions for it...including a dropped to the ground Rat Rod, but I think I'd build her as a late '50s- very early '60s theme'd full fendered rod. Wide whitewalls all around, Chinese Red steel wheels or Moon discs, lose the hood side panels and bumpers, painted in the color of Happy's choice with a nostalgic motor of that era...maybe an FE Ford or Y Block with 3 deuces on top.

Or better yet, I'll come to GA and take that heap off Happy's hands..... I promise to give her a good home AND shop space.

Jan
