Got a new truck today :) Now with pics, dialup may have trouble

Havent picked it up yet though, so no pics.

1979 Bronco XLT, 460, C-6. Good looking black paint with an exceptionally nice red interior. Tranny is a fresh autozone unit with no 2nd gear, so it was parked and forgotten about. Been sitting 6-8 months. Belonged to a buddy of mine. So he mentioned he was gonna donate it, so I told him to name his price. He did..

$500

And I can pay him when I can, so all I have to do is start parting out my stalled out 3/4 ton project and hook him up with the cash.

If I cant get the tranny fixed without removing it, Im just gonna yank it and install the 4 speed setup I got from chilly for the 3/4 ton.

Now Im gonna have a truck on the road real soon. I been desperate for one since my dads van blew up. And this one will hold me, the wife AND both kids !!

Take care of your friends, and they will take care of you...

On edit, I think I'll call it the Bubonic Bronco

Not as cool as yours by a long shot man, but it'll suit the needs of the growing family pretty well.

I'll add dana 60s and a set of 40s later

Hey man that's a helluva deal... welcome to the big-block Bronco club! If I had a 3/4 ton sitting around to part out I'd be hard pressed to at least swap the rear axle into my Bronco... I've grenaded my 9" diff 3 times, and burned up 3 sets of R&P gears... Guess the 9" just isn't up to the task of big-block torque, deep gears, and tall tires.

I do have the D70 from my F-350.....

Needs new gears, and the posi unit is junk, but I do have it

So now I just save my pennies for a D60 high pinion. Maybe I can get ya to dig me up another deal out that way eh?

You can't go wrong with 70's ford 4x4's. Good find at a hell of a price. I bought the 74 f250 thats listed with (mycars) the same way. It had a newer trany that 2nd went out in. I got a good deal on it, took it home pulled the pan and the band was just hanging in there. I fished the adjuster parts out of the pan stuck it all together adjusted it and its been fine every sence. Maybe you can get as lucky as I did.

No luck involved, I've converted 3 of the 73-79 trucks to 4 speeds in the past. Its a pretty much cake job.
