1964 Ford Falcon Squire Wagon

I found this car locally. Looks pretty nice from the picture. I'm going to look at it this weekend. Any particular problems with these that I should keep an eye out for? What should I be willing to spend on this if it's in good shape?

Where is this car located? I think I have seen it. Definately check the floor, front and rear subframes. especially where the springs attach, and where the rad support connects to the fornt inner fenders! Where in Wis.are you located. Maybe we can get together sometime.
Hope this helps!

Tim

Look for rust in the spare tire well, and the tail gate, too. Looks sweet. Certainly a keeper. Good luck!!

It is most probably a 6cyl. It may be a 170 or possibly a 200. The car is basically a Mustang and will have similar spots prone to rust. Check the shock towers , spring perches, and also the floor boards. The wagons are harder to find small parts ( trim & etc ) than the Mustangs, but mechanically use many of the same parts. They are good reliable cars that are different. I have been driving a 65 Ranch Wagon until recently having a Cruise-o-Matic permanently cruise on me. It will be back as soon as I get a garage built.

I talked to the guy and it has a 6 cylinder. The body is fair condition. Has a few softball size holes in the floorboards. Has some bodywork done in the "typical" places he said. Interior is pretty good shape. And the underneath is supposed to be good. We'll see. He told me to make him an offer b/c he wants it gone. I need a ballpark figure on what I should offer him? Any ideas?

If the floor pans have softball sized holes in them, that means they are gone. Probably sub frames too. Pour some water in the cowl and see if it comes out in the car. If it does the cowl is shot. Starting to sound like a lot of body work on this car. Can you do it yourself?
