I heard that last year that this year was it, but I still see some at the dealers.

My local Ford dealer says next year is it. I think the Ford guys are taking some advice from the Yamaha folks. The Yamaha V-Max has been in it's last year since it first came out in 1985.

Yep, this is the last year for the 2 passenger 'Bird. Evidently the demand for this type of car just isn't there.

Personally I'd rather see Ford hang the T-Bird moniker on a slightly longer verson of the new Mustang platform and offer it as a 4 seat 2 door hardtop again. More than anything else, I think that the demise of the '89-'97 type 'Birds was Ford doing a real poor marketing job, much like the way that they don't advertise the Crown Vic. It almost seems as if the bean counters and ad execs in Dearborn set certain models up for failure.....

Here it is, Plain and simple. The T-Bird was re-intorduced with ONLY a limited production RUN intended from the begining. It will end this June/July.
Word has it they will bring the name back in the future (no time frame given)

It actually was supposed to end this year. Was not a shock.

why not make the t-bird like the older ones. 4.6 DOHC (cobra motor), slightly larger, maybe rear seats again. Then price it in the low 30's. 40k-45k was way too much for the car and put it in the wrong realm. It needs to be an afordable sports car. Not a luxo-sporty-thing-a-ma-bob. If it runs low 14's high 13's, handles really well, and had a hard top that didn't scratch the paint, then maybe it would have sold better and lasted longer.

i think that a worked over style of the 90's t bird wouold work well, i dont think there is a market for a vehicle that looks like that. the retro style is working for the mustangbecause of the "Gone in 60 Seconds" and Bullitt. with a car that is not as hyped upon bringing back a car that looks almost exactley like a 60's car isent that popular. for the older crowd not that was young at that time but that doesent sell to todays younger croud.

a apoligise for the butcherment of the english language.
