I thought I heard/read once that they put them in wagons with disc rear brakes in the 80's? Probably read that on the net.

Given the 8.8 didn't come on the scene until what, 85/86?, I was thinking they kept em in the CV's till then. Been wrong before, reserve the right, etc etc...

I have seen them in '85 and '86 Broncos. Matter of fact, my uncle bough a brand new '85 Bronco, and it had a 9" in it. I have also seen a few '83 trucks with 9" rears in them.

Fx the 7.5 which was the prelude to the 8.8 took over. Yea the trucks ran them up untill 86' possibly as far as 88' I have read conflicting opinions on that one. The granadas had the 9 inch it was an option along with the 351w My buddy had one it was an 79' It came with drums brakes not the versallies style disc. His dad did special order it but I have heard of other guys scoring 9 inch housings for thier mavs from granadas

I got out some old magizine articles and it would seem I stand corrected on the granada it was only(if mags sources were correct) offered until 78. My buddies dad car must have been a carry over or a late order cuz it was titled a 79. It was super nice he sold about 3 years ago.
