Any one going to the Gasser Magazine Nostalgia Gasser Reunion 07-14 15 16 -05 at Thompson Raceway Park in Ohio?

going to try to go fri and sat if the weather isnt too bad. going to drive the falcon on sat. had a couple falcons there last year. one had 460, the other had small block and a straight axle. there was also a cool 65 comet running a 300 inline six with webers. lots of cool older drag cars. lots of willys with hemis also

Dang, this is tempting as Thompson is just up the road from me a piece. I actually haven't set foot at a drag strip in over 30 years...no offense anybody, but modern drag racing doesn't rock my world. But I would really dig on seeing some good old straight axle gassers race...[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_tup.gif[/img]

spongebob, youve nver been to thompson? its the oldest dragstrip in ohio and it looks it. but, its run very well by people that are there for the racers. the gasser reunion is always a ggod time with alot of great cars and people. its worth the drive.

went up to thompson fri afternoon. they have got over 125 cars expected to be there. the rain stayed away till after the time trials were done. a lot of different cars that i didnt see last year. the Winged Express is there again this year. not very many fords there, but it is still cool to see all the Willys and other old drag cars. there is a slight chance of rain today in the afternoon. if you are a fan of the gassers, you definately need to go to this show.

As far as I'm concerned, the old strips are the best. New ones are too sanitary...

Just got home from Thompson Dragway.........NO RAIN all day.[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_tup.gif[/img] Man what a trip to the past![img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif[/img] It was cool to go to that "OLD" dragstrip and see all them GASSER Willys and front engine rail dragsters and all the old GASSER Fords and Chevys etc.

The old HEMI funny cars ran some 8's[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_tup.gif[/img] ( last week at Norwalk dragway Billy Glidden ran 7's in his small block FORD [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_tup.gif[/img][img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_tup.gif[/img][img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif[/img][img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif[/img][img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif[/img])
