Sorry to hijack thread for a minute- need to talk to dealers...
Wisconsin...lemme guess- you probably saw like 1 or two mustang GTs last year, none yet this year? I got one on order and have 'discovered' how allocation works...a priority 10 allocated sold order up north dont carry the weight of a low priority stock order allocated in texas/florida...Ive waited 6 weeks- still no vin, yet cars ordered down south 2 weeks got vin same day, getting built next week, likely on ebay the following week if it dont get sold by then... if you work for a mid/small dealer (by floridas scale) please hop over here and toss a vote in this poll:

I'm spending a lot of time pestering ford about this BS- tired of getting kicked out of line by florida dealers...allocations should be at least EQUAL even if number of allocations is biased to the sunshine belt- its killing dealers up here and pi$$ing off a lot of northern customers...
last I checked Ohio to Florida exchange rate was 1:1
Anyone that works for 95% of the dealers out there or ever thinks they might want to order a car thru ford, please chime in over there- thanks-

back to the 'I hate car dealers':
one dealership that really got under my skin did so by offering to help- they could get me a Mustang GT 'reconfigured stock order' to whatever I wanted for 5 over sticker- well thanks, but...anyway a little after talking to sales guy, was talking to GM- he mentioned a dozen cars backordered for 6-9 months that probably would 'never get built'. Got to thinking a little and - sorry but those people that heard that story and saw 'stock' ordered cars at over sticker on the floor were looking at a more expensive reconfiguration of their order- dealer has say 10 allocated cars, stock are SUPPOSED to be priority 80(unsold- for the lot), ordered cars start at code 40 and go down- lowest numbers built first, 10 is highest priority dealer can issue. Dealer trades can be done sometimes, but if a stock order shows up- somethings fishy.
If somebodys ordered car didnt get built and dealer is getting stock, he bumped priority back on your order and is acting like its fords fault.Priority is set by the dealer and subject to change- they dont 'HAVE' to tell you. I found 2 dealers that 'couldnt get me one'- didnt like answer but it was honest- fair enough...ordered thru one of them. Sent kinda nasty letter to the dealer mentioned above...never is a long time, but never is the next time I consider buying a car from them, there are a lot of good dealers around, some even have great service departments, but you gotta watch, ask around. And if you want a car, be sure you got a receipt on at least a deposit- then noone can unknowingly sell it out from under your salesman (he might not have known). not all salesmen are handshake quality, but even if they are, shoulda put something on paper in case one of the others arent, or might unknowingly sell your car- my guy said put anything down for a deposit, that way the order is claimed, no way of any mixups.
Good news is right now around here trucks are flying into dealers- mine got ALL the trucks he ordered for the year(ouch) 2.5 weeks after they were ordered. told me he got a 350SD in special ordered in 3 weeks- you shouldnt have to wait long...with gas this high, if you can wait a while you might get a rebete or something- I'm kinda guessing there will be a glut of trucks on the lots if gas stays here.
