14\" Offset Air Cleaner Base

Found this recently, under new products. Thought it might help out others who have the DUI or have run into clearance issues with larger air cleaners.

Due to the large diameter cap on the DUI Distributor, your standard air cleaner may not fit. Rather than swap it out for a smaller filter system, the 14" Offset Air Cleaner Base will allow you to retain the larger air cleaner by repositioning it away from the distributor. This offset base is designed to work with most 4 barrel carburetors. It comes chrome plated for an attractive look and is easy to install.
Part# 2430 (Ford & GM DUI Applications) $29.00

I believe Southwest Speed invented the offset air cleaner case about 20 years ago for circle track stock cars that run the HEI style ignition.

I got mine on eBay for somewhere around $9... no complaints.

Boy, what a difference compared to the old 10" I was running! Much quicker off the line and sounds a little better as well

How were you able to use a stock lid like that? Does it come with an air cleaner stud that has a 'kink' in it the amount of the offset?

It comes with a stud that is "kinked" to allow the lid to fit on, pretty nice little setup.
