I think it's only on tires that were originally white walls to begin with. But I wonder if raised white letter tires have the same white band under them as white wall tires?

The white lettered tires should work... but the band may not be as wide.

But yes, they have to have the white stripe (or possibly white letters) for this to work. Don't think I'd try it though, just because taking a grinder to my tires doesn't make me feel extraordinarily safe. [img]/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img]

Don't grind your tire's sidewalls.. It's messy and could be dangerous due to weakened sidewalls. Follow this link and it will expain how to paint on whitewalls with Krylon rattle cans.. Several HAMBers have had EXCELLENT luck by using this method.
