new project \"project: unFair-mont\"

Well, if it isn't bad enought I am dealing with my 1972 GTS, and my 1979 F150, and I have yet another misfit under my wing, courtesy of my stepdad.
Introducing the best $200 ever spent.

Background on this car:
Low mile one owner, little old person story; death, and left to sit for 10 years. Sold at an estate sale; second owner strips the original drivetrain and interior, trim, etc. and installed a complete running gear from a 1990 GT mustang, including 5 speed setup.

Plans are basic: get the HO 302 and 5 speed from our wrecked 1987 Mustang, and make a sleeper.
Will be recieving a complete interior update from a newer mustang, along with the complete EFI setup.
Even came with a new 3.73 traclock unit in the trunk!
This is sort of a mixed blessing compared to the work I've gone through on my 1972 Torino Sport...
not tearing this one down to the same degree as the GTS, but it'll be getting alot of stuff filled and smoothed.

Andy,
You've got a lot of courage. Any progress pics on your other stuff?

Okay. Do NOTHING to the exterior or interior. If anything, hose it down then throw some dirt on it. Put everything you've got into the drivetrain and suspension. Blow the doors off of kids in their Hondas. How fun that would be.

Hey Jon-
I have been working on the 72 GTS. I need to adjust the master cylinder rod, I made the thing too short when I took it apart for paint and put it back together, but those 12.5" rotors and dual piston CV police brakes about tossed me through the windshield last time I was testing the brakes.
She goes to get plates on the 16th of April, so I'll be driving it on the street, finally! As far as updated pictures, my MSN album has a ton, but here's a few from my photobucket album...

Concerning the Fairmont...it's going to get the engine bay done first going to do a respray to make it look presentable. Then we need to transfer over all the efi stuff off the 1985 turbo coupe Tbird like the tank, fuel lines, etc to use on the fairmont and get it mobile again. Being that it's a stick car, and prviously had a 1990 5.0L and t5 in it, it's a matter of a new clutch cable, and bolting stuff in.

As far as the white things, they are just tin panels that are rivited in place of the windows, which are still in the car on the floor.
We're going to strip that tbird shell, and I am hoping to find it a new home instead of the crusher, as it'd be a very nice basis for a strip car for someone.
My stepdad found another Futura in a bad area of Omaha just sitting with a pristine interior with a rotted body for $100.

I wanted to do a 351w in my 1982 post sedan I had, but I had to unload that car because no place to keep it at the time.
Concerning the paint, we are going to acid dip some of the panels, like the hood and decklid, I need to patch all the trim holes in the body, and shoot a current crown vic charcoal grey color and maybe some pin stripes.
I love the lx 5.0 rims on there, they set the look perfect to me.
Hell, I said let's get it driving, and I'd be content to drive it as is! LOL

i would just be happy with that engine out of the TC the 4 bang in the 88 is goin to pot in a hurry lol ....... I had a Zeypher Z7 with a 88 ho 5.0 5 speed and 4;11 rear. Had Midas mufflers on it quiet as hell but would kick the shiznit out of the ricers on the strip lol . The origional color was a copper orange and i kept it that way, even left the wire rim covers on it for that extra grandma look. Tucked in exhaust tips with an x pipe 2.75 pipes that thing was great fun.
