First Muscle Car Purchase - General Advice

I'll take that as a complament. I worked the airfield refueling the Helos. Hot as H$%L out there at times.
Easy is defined as, the radiator fits from 70-71 Torinos Fairlanes and 71-73 Stang, very available. Engine mounts are factory and bolt right in as does the trans crossmember. Carb, trans linkage you can also use factory. I have a guy in Kentucky that has about 12 Torinos he's parting out and has parts all the time from the firewall forward. Rad hoses are factory. Suspension is the same except bigger sway bar and coilsprings. Which if you're going to rebuilt her, you'll be doing those anyway. Headers or factory exhaust manifolds are availalbe. Basicly you can use either factory or aftermarket parts and not have to do any cutting or welding up.
Probably the hardest part is going to be from the seat back. The diff is special to the Ranchero due to width and spring mount locations. Call me we'll do lunch. I eat at Striker and sleep at N. Victory by the Px.

So you're a contractor? Oops now I really owe you an apology, thought you were a pogue!

I live at Liberty and eat here (DFAC that got hit by the mortor a couple days ago). Supposedly we're supposed to get a couple days off in a bit. If so I'll shoot you a PM.

I guess it's Liberty I live by. I looked at the PX and it says Liberty. I just got here last week so still learning some of the places. Yep a "contractor" also retired Navy E-7. Oldest son is 7 yr Army. So drop me a line I usually go to that DFAC at the 1915 time. I live at the KBR compound that was hit Mar 23rd. Interesting way to fix landmarks.

Does it have TacoBell, BK, Cinnabon, and Popeyes out front?

Do you take all your meals over at Victory? Ever eat at the DFAC right down the road from the Liberty PX (described above)?

I do lunch 1300-1400 at the one I think is the old Striker Base with the Post Office 100 yds up the road, since I work at JMMT (mail) on the SW corner of BIAP. And dinner at Liberty which is by the Comm. hill with the large red/white antanne. DFAC at Liberty is "kitty corner" from the PX. and PX has the fastfood places to the left as you walk past the chain fence, by the bazzar. Not a bad job except once in a while. Along with the outbound mail/packages, I handle all the WIA and KIA mail. Special handling is done for that.

I did a lot of Honor Guard when I first went in the Navy in the early 70s. Don't get any easier with age. When you get a chance, give me a time and place and I can give you some reading material. Not a problem.

Back in 30AG they pulled me out and offered me a spot in the Old Guard up in DC (height, GT score, and 11B). I thought about it but ultimately turned it down. As a great an honor it would be to do so, and even have the chance to be be a Tomb Guard, I just couldn't take it.

Word is we're getting tomorrow off. If so I'll shoot you a PM.

Not a problem. I get back at the houch by 1835 so my first DFAC run is 1915 or PX. Which ever works for you. I work 12/7s so no days off at this end.
