PRESS IN STUDS QUESTION

Somebody trying to keep the studs in the heads. Not factory.

PRESS IN STUDS QUESTION

The early SB Chevys had a habit of pulling the studs out of the head. A common fix was to drill the stud and stud boss to insert a piece of drill rod to act as a lock. Not the best solution, but it worked. Regards. John--Las Vegas.

PRESS IN STUDS QUESTION

It's called "pinning the studs". It works fine for keeping the studs from pulling out, but removal is a PITA if the studs break.

Good Luck!

PRESS IN STUDS QUESTION

it's because factory studs by themselves can't handle higher spring pressures. The springes will actually pull the studs up. Cheap way to not put the studs and thread them for threaded studs.
