I Called B.S. on This

OK, I'll breach with my story, very similar to ckelly's but on 2 wheels.

Sometime about 1987-1988 or so I had a 1984 Turbocharged GPZ750. We did all the electronic goodies to it and an upgraded turbo, it was somewhere around 175 hp on two wheels

I left Wiers Beach in NH on I93 and buzzed it up to about 155 and just let her rip, got off my exit, slowed down and took a nice rural highway toward my home town.

As I would sink in the sweeping twisties I'd accelerate and ride a wheelie at about the 80-85 mph range, ease back out of it, and basically repeat maintaining a solid 25-35 over the speed limit at all times

I pull over at an old turn off where the road used to go and take a leak. Sitting there enjoying the cool shade in the woods when a cop SLIDES in tires smoking from trying to stop.

Assume the position, screaming at me, etc, he was following me since before the off ramp!!!!

Well, I did like ckelly and just 'fessed up, but eventually said "Sir, I was not trying to outrun you though, I was just driving fast. If I was trying to run I wouldnt stop here and take a leak in clear view"

He looked at me with a look, almost like a bewildered kid, and said "You just drive that way?" .......... I had to say yes, but it hurt LOL

Anyway, he said he was going to arrest me and impound the bike, but what he did was actually get very friendly and realized I was just a polite kid (maybe a little crazy but still a polite kid)

He gave me a 375.00 ticket.....I had to thank him for it and shake his hand because it was MUCH cheaper and much easier than the alternative.

I can only imagine what he saw as I would ride a 80 mph wheelie out of a turn as he was trying to catch me LOL
