Any one have a new Focus ? pro\'s or con\'s

Thinking about turning in my lease truck and buying a new Focus with no options. Any one have pro's or cons on the car ?

Never owned one but I've put quite a few miles on more than a few new Foci for the Ford dealer that I drive for, Bob. For it's size, the Focus is a decent driving car though the driver's seating position makes my back hurt after 100 miles or so. I believe that Darrell (Luv70'sFord) had some problems with his '02 or '03, but otherwise I've not heard much bad about them.

But here's another alternative you may want to consider.. For the same money or less than a stripper '08 Focus, I'd dealer shop for an off-rental '07 Fusion instead. These former rentals are beautifully maintained, nicely optioned and generally have 12K miles or less with the rest of the factory warranty still in effect. The fuel mileage difference is insignificant between the two models even if the Fusion has a V6. The ride, fit and finish is MUCH nicer plus these turkeys handle as if they're on rails! As much as I hate FWD cars, I'd buy a Fusion (or it's sister, the Merc Milan) were I in the market to replace my beloved '88 LSC Lincoln.

last time I was in a focus all it did was make a wonderful rattle sound while driving on the freeway. Its worse than my 69 mach 1 and all that needs is a few screws put back in the interior and it goes away. I was actually thinking about an SVT focus for a day then decided to go Cobra. I like tbirdchick's idea about the Fusion. I'd rather have a Fusion, especially the AWD version.

I had a lot of problems with my 03. But to be completely honest, I dont feel thats the nrom for these cars. My brother has one, and a few freinds have them, and mine was the only one that had issues. All of my issues were minor, it was getting my dealer to fix it that aggrivated me to the point I dumped the car.

If I thought I could still get by with a small car, I'd seriously consider buying another one.

'05 Focus with 50K on it, no problems of note.

Had the oil changed regularly, tires too.

It's the 5-speed SES. It's actually quite fun to drive.

I'd third the Fusion, it's a great driving car, for a front wheel drive .

But seriously, it's a great car overall.

I hate to keep correcting you. But the Focus you have is an "05 ZX4 ST. I know because I looked all over the place to find one when I bought it. It's much different than the SES. Much more power and suspension mods. It's a great car.

My daughter rented one for a day and it is a cheap car.

I had a Fusion SE company car with the V6 and loved it! Go with tbirdchick's suggestion and find one off of lease. If you do go with the V6 car, keep in mind it is the 221 HP version of the 181 cubic inch motor. Now being accustomed to the Taurus, the first time I went to pass a guy, I mashed the gas pedal and was awaiting the three day wait you get with all Tauri when all of a sudden it dropped down and the peppy little V6 kicked in and I almost ran into the guy in front of me!

Later!
