My 408 breaths again.
Well, since killing my engine at the PHR photo shoot I have been slowly rebuilding it over the past few months. Its now done and runs great.
The block is from a guy on ebay that sells prepped blocks and all sorts of other goodies. He did a realy nice job.
It was cheaper to replace the block than it was to replace pistons, install screw in galley plugs, deck the block and bore and hone my block.
I ended up replacing: the block, two heavily scored pistons, a complete set of rings, all bearings, polishing the crank and adding a hyd roller cam.
Other additions are a Miloden 8 qt pan and oil pump pick up, and a Melling oil pump.
The intake is also properly port matched now.
After driving it this afternoon my first impressions are that it feels a lot stronger. In any case, I'm going to baby it for a few weeks until I feel realy comfortable with it.
I posted a short vid in the vid section of the running engine just after it had ran long enough to tweak it a little.
