Not a new sport but I think it's Boss!

Well it looks like nobody is interested in black smoke, brute torque & horsepower, but this sport is growing fast.

Re: Diesel Power - Not new

Thats pretty awesome. Im a diesel fan. Dont own one yet, but I'm dying to replace the 460 in my bronco with a powerstroke. Even one of the V6 engines from the cabovers would be cool.

Re: Diesel Power - Not new

Hell I can't afford to put together a 351w! Much less a diesel that costs twice as much. I wanted a new PSD pickup to pull the Maverick with but believe it or not, the Lightning was cheaper, more fun to drive, and has more power. It pulls pretty decent too and gets the same (or better) mileage as a friend's '05 SD 4x4 extened cab F250.

Yeah I think it's cool and all...but out of reach of us budget minded hotrodders.

Diesels rock! Sadly, I don't have the funds to build one right now. Although eventually I'd like a beefed up 6.9/7.3 IDI with a couple turbos in my truck, or even a Cummins 5.9 swap if I ever scrape up the stuff.

Mavman: That's the beauty of it all.It doesn't cost you a cent to look at that $200,000 dragster or listen to that awesome sound when it's burning up the track on a quarter mile run.Just looking at the quality work and realizing all of the hours of time & sweat that went into it is pleasure for me.Sure,I would love to pilot that bad boy for a run or two but that's probably not going to happen so I will get my joy from the sidelines.Calspec
