What Is This Thing!?

I was in the garage this morning getting ready to go out for a motorcycle ride and my wife came in and asked me to walk around the corner of the house and see what this thing was/is?

It is growing in the rocks along side the house and I moved them away from it to get a better picture.

This picture is blurry.

Anyone ever see one of these growing in their yard?

Thanks!

Looks like mushrooms, I'll check my friends mushroom book and get back to this.

Looks like some kid's toy poodle buried in the dirt.
Does look like some odd mushroom and the pretty ones are usually the deadly ones I've noticed. Is it actually yellow? I've seen white ones similar to that.

Re: What Is This Thing!?

Well just don't eat it, it's not the cowpie variety. LOL Mad cow maybe?

I can't remember the name of them but there used to be a lot these real pretty mushrooms in the woods in oregon. I looked them up in a book (before internet) and found they were very poisonous(sp) but they sure looked cool. They were like a rusty brown with white nubby spots on them like you see mice on in ceramics and such.
GA and probably other states have the puff ball types that are fun to step on and poof the powder out of them. They just barely stick up out of the ground. They were new to me.
Hope it's still there and bloomed out for the pic! Maybe it's a moon shroom. Kinda like the moonflower that blooms at night.
