1969 Mercury Cyclone 428 Cobra Jet

A friend of mine bought the above car brand new in 1969.He drove it until 1972,then pulled out the 428 and installed a 302 and drove it until 1975.He then parked it in a shed and didn't drive it any. Last year he reinstalled the 428 and had the car repainted its original dark blue with gold stripes. He's still not driving it and I think he's getting ready to sell it for a big piece of change .

All of these years I thought he was crazy for letting it sit there. Now he is going to get twenty times what he originally paid for it.He's a bunch smarter than me.

Why on Earth would someone buy a 428CJ, and then put a 302 in it 3 years later?
Got me beat.
