New track time!
Went racing yesterday for the 1st time in a year almost and ran a 12.78@103 I havent't made any changes since last year except for a different size PV and re-adjusted the secondary idle screws.
My old time was 12.85@102. Somewhere in those small changes I must have got a little more HP.
This new time was also made in the heat of the day(about 82*) and the old one was made during a cool fall evening. I'm thinking maybe if I go again on a cool night that I could run deeper in the 12.7 range.
My 60' times are between 1.66-1.70
Someone here once suggested that I need a larger cam. I think they're right because my rpms through the traps are about 6000
And yes..oviously, I could use better heads...lol
I think I finally got about all of what I can expect out of this setup. I have a NOS sniper kit that's still new in the box from 2 years ago I've been deciding if I want to put on now or not.....

Re: New track time!
Great job on the new times, man I'm envious of those 60' times. I'm trapping 101 on my best pass and only a 13.83 et on a crappy 2.2 60'. Oh well....for now...anyway again great job on the improve there, that's got to feel good not going in a year and then bust out a new best time...

Re: New track time!
Good stuff, man. Feels good when they go faster, huh?
I'm beginning to wonder about the combo on my junk, tho'. 60' are 1.61 - 1.62, et @ 11.67, mph @ 113.
Feels like from looking at your numbers I should have more mph or lower et, or something.
Of course I did discover the next day that I only had about 80% throttle. Should be a little quicker / faster next time out.
Didn't mean to hijack.
82GT, I heard a saying once about NOS being like dating a hot girl with STD. You want to hit it, but you're afraid of the consequences.

LOL...that's why it's been setting in the box for over two years now.
I 'm afraid my racing days would be over for a very long time because I wouldn't have the money to build another engine if I blew this one up with spray.

Re: New track time!
I built my engine for funny gas 10 years ago, when I put it together. Not even a thought about using funny gas now. I have enough fun already, and I would rather save the $$$$. for other upgrades. Maybe when I finally get my butt kicked in a street race, my attitude may change.
