We ARE Going Racing

The planets are in alignment, the sun is out, the rain is going to hold off until after we get back, and WE ARE GOING RACING!

I know, everybody goes racing, why get so excited. Dunno, just am.

My son Jake is stoked and can't wait to nail the loud pedal, I'm jacked because last time out was 11.67 with only 3/4 throttle, and I get to watch my son race a car I built. Pretty fargin' cool stuff, in my book.

We load up tomorrow AM, hit the road by noon, should be in Yakima by 3:00 or so. Track opens at six so there's time for a swim before going out.

Saturday it's out of the motel by noon, track opens at 4:00 (have to find something to do) and then run 'til we win, lose or break.

Hell, I'm even a little excited that the totally evilwicked ex-missus murff is going to be there to watch the boy go fast. How's that for twisted?

Cal, if you ever saw me putting my fat arse over the cage and into the seat you might think different of offering show-biz good luck.

Actually, I told Jake that this is the one and only time it's gonna be Ok to blow up the engine in Dad's car! Wadding the engine into a ball is Ok, wadding the car into a ball (expecially in front of his mom) would be a bad thing.

I just hope that if / when the engine makes a boom noise it's on about the 9th or 10th pass and he's been able to go some rounds. Then you'll all see some Proud Pappy Struttin' goin' on around here.

I think I'm going to need a sedative to get through the night.

Are you going to the same place with the Custom Car show? Yakima Speedway? That would be great, something to do between times.
