Re: Son of a b**ch, I woke up to this
Can't imagine how you felt when you looked out and saw that!! I like the hand cutting off idea. They steal again and they'll have to use their feet for everything! Hope you spot them somewhere.
I wonder how well it would work to engrave ID on the back of wheels and such. Maybe they could get rid of it but could you tell it once had them there though? Of course you'd have to see them from the back if you thought they might be yours.
Someone stole my cheapo cassette player out of the shotrod when in CA, had to be a kid, who else would steal that? The next one I put in isn't purty but I'd sure know it if I saw it cause there is ID stuff everywhere on it even the face. I hate theives!!!

Re: Son of a b**ch, I woke up to this
Thieves are the lowest of the low. Why can't they put the energy they put into stealing stuff into a serious job or something? There needs to be tougher punishment for such crimes. The worst part is,if you catch them in the act and kick there a$$, you are the bad guy. CA is a mixed up world. I'm sorry for your loss, and hope it all works out for you. Thats a sweet wagon,if it makes you feel any better.

In THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS you can shoot a person for entering your property as long as they are actually there to do harm

Re: Son of a b**ch, I woke up to this
That plain SUCKS!
I know this is too little to late but I saved this from another forum years ago and thought I'd post it here.
Tire theft revenge and justice.
Here's a story from one of my readers about a clever way to foil one who would steal the wheels out from under your car.
About a year and a half ago, the 16" Pony rims from my 91 Mustang LX were stolen, to make matters worse, it was only two weeks after they were fitted with new 225/50/16 BIG O Eruo VXP tires. Well, luckily for me, when I purchased the tires, I had the shop insert into each tire, a plastic ziplock bag containing a copy of my drivers license, the license number of my car, and the color and year of it as well. Also in the bags was a short note, requesting anyone repairing the tires or replacing them to give me a phone call collect if the car that the tires are doesn't match the license and description of the one found on the note.
Last week, I get a call from a shop in Eureka, there is a 1987 Mustang in there with a flat, and the guy repairing the tire found my note and called me. I told him my tires and rims were stolen, and maybe he should call the police. I faxed him a copy of my Police report, and the receipt I had for the tires with the tires serial numbers on it. To make a long story short, when the customer was confronted with the note I had installed in the tire(s), he left the shop in a hurry. The Police were summoned, and it was determined the rims on his car were mine. I got the rims back, the tires were nearly worn out. The cars owner was arrested for possession of stolen property. That's just one more way to take a bite out of crime.

Re: Son of a b**ch, I woke up to this
^eh sounds like a lot of work...go shopping around for them with a gun, and get a big mean dog. J/K
That's a pretty good idea you just hope that the guy getting arrested is the guy who stole them, and not the guy who bought them at a swap meet.
I couldn't imagine waking up and seeing my car like that. When I first started driving my Galaxie I was super parinoid about it getting stolen. I think I'm staying away form the west coast though. Do you think there's some kind of connection with you not being able to protect your property with force and the higher theft rate???

Re: Son of a b**ch, I woke up to this
Those are some good ideas. I found out that some woman came to the door yesterday afternoon. My aunt was home and the woman didn't make sense but possibly wanted work. A guy was in the car with her and started checking out my car. He asked if it was for sale and she said no.
They didn't go to the neighbors so they were obviously casing the place to come back later. Time to order up some new wheels and make a few security changes.
It's a good thing I didn't catch them because you guys would of seen me on the national news- "man kills thief trying to steal wheels off of his classic car".
