Re: fires in california

The fires are still burning here in San Diego county. Thankfully my family and I are safe. If there are any members in the area that need any help Please send me a pm. I will be glad to help.

Re: fires in california

I was just looking at the fire maps last night and noticed that one of them is in an area of a socal gal member and they have had to evacute possibley also as I don't know the exact location he's in. I emailed him but haven't heard anything as of yet. He has at least 4 cars and most he's had for over 20 yrs. They are his babies like my one is to me. Hopefully I hear from him soon. His parents also live next door. Just have to think they are all safe til hearing otherwise.

Deb

Re: fires in california

Just got a reply to the email. The fires are north and east of where he is. If only so many others were so lucky.

Re: fires in california

Yorba Linda is NE of Anaheim (Disneyland) about 20 miles.

San Diego is quieting down firewise. Smokey, hazy with light ash on the ground just about everywhere. The Witch fire (some name huh) did the most damage. Covered most of San Diego's neighborhoods. The fire zigzagged thru the canyons/valleys where there was tons of wild brush. Strong offshore Santa Anna winds. Came within 3-5 miles of the ocean I'd say. Then when the winds changed back to the more normal onshore winds the fires then went north and east doing more damage. Today (Thurs) the fire is way east but still burning.

I saw several photos of classics and sport cars toasted through. Several were in places real close by. A real shame.

Contact the guys at John's classic mustang (JMC), San Diego Mustang Club or JBA Racing here in town. You never know, nice offer. Thanks

Re: fires in california

My son is stationed at the Naval base in San Diego. He was sent to a coloseum to help with evacuees. He said he was surprised at how upbeat everybody was, considering the circumstanses.
