New Product- What Do You All Think?
I am building a new product for Ford and Mustangs and I wanted to get some input as to what Ford owners think. It is a CNC machined billet aluminum dust cap for disc brake rotors drum brake hubs. I grew tired of destroying the stock steel dust caps every time I installed or removed a set. My caps are held on with 10-24 allen head cap screws. The hub or rotor has to be drilled and tapped to accept the caps, but after they are installed, removal and re-instalation is a breeze. They also look really good on wheels like Torque Thrusts if you don't run the center cap. They are black anodized, but I am considering some polished versions with stainless steel hardware. What do you think?

Cool as always Tom. Here are my thoughts.
Think "contiguous product line" and you'll be successful. I notice a lot of one-off cool parts out there that are really neat but without a package (line) they just kind of remain that.... one-off cool parts.
With a line you create an identity that people remember... ie, "oh, call Tommy Zee, he's the dust cover guy."
To start, create varieties for different apps.

Cool idea F15 looks good.
Agree with Mikelonis you need to run with it, did you consider doing them like the aftermarket brake people do. My Strange struts have the center cap held in with an o-ring and they are quite tight that way. Just include in your instructions o-ring should be left dry to hold better.

Re: New Product- What Do You All Think?
I was going to install them with an O-ring like some of the Wilwood stuff is, but I want to market these to the circle track guys too, and a bolt on is a must. I have installed them on the car and tapping the 10-24 holes is pretty easy.

Re: New Product- What Do You All Think?
I was thinking you would need to take them off and at least get them on a drill press, where as i dont have a drill press, that would be difficult, and i would not want to take them somewhere to get them drilled because thats not real cheap, but if you can just drill them with a hand held drill and tap them while on the car that is sweet. I think they are sweet no matter what, i was more thinking outloud that i probably couldnt use them.

Re: New Product- What Do You All Think?
That is probably a great idea and or product since it is hard to find a push on type that fits half way decent. Most found in the stores are universal and don't fit near as good as the factory original. I think they would go if the price is lean enough to offset the hassle of installation.

Re: New Product- What Do You All Think?
I think they look great...If I had to nit pick something I'm not that crazy about the look of the allen head bolts..I'm wondering if a small domed headed screw (sort of like a carriage bolt)with a slot would be a little "cleaner" looking....
