Wow, I never knew he was buried in his front yard! I lost track of him in the early 80's

Re: where were you in 62
FE, you're old!!
I was 4 and living in Glenbrook, a town that no longer even exists in the sticks of Oregon. Oh wait, we had just moved from there to a place about 2 miles away and 1 mile outside Alpine.
Playing in the dirt and getting greasy with my dad. I spent most of my weekends and holidays from the age of 5 weeks on a little island in Fern Ridge lake camping and mom, dad, friends and family water-skied. I still can't do more than dog paddle hardly.
From the age of 6 to 15 it was horses and we covered that whole area. Then things went back and I had a bf. Should of stuck to the horses! Downhill from there!
I remember Wolfman too!

Re: where were you in 62
I was 11 goin' on 12 in 1962. I was at the local dirt tracks sneaking into the pits to "help" on a couple of older friends' stock cars. The closest that I came to a "street scene" was when my oldest cousin dropped the Olds mill from his stock car into a '47 Ford coupe and went street racing. Believe me, the street racing action in Youngstown, Oh back then was anything but American Grafitti-like. Money, rough characters, switchblades in pockets of 'sickle jackets, etc were the rule. The fun stuff of that movie may have taken place elsewhere, but not in the rough steel towns of the eastern Midwest.

Re: where were you in 62
I was 12, growing up in rural Northwestern Ohio. I was just getting interested in cars. The neighbor just bought a 62 Galaxie with a 406. Kinda made my Dads 61 Galaxie 4 door 292 Ford-o-matic look sick. The Hottest car in town was a 32 chopped coupe with a big Olds and 6 strombergs. He was your typical "hood" type for the time period, he ran a welding shop.

Re: where were you in 62
I was 15 in '62. And today, I turn 60! For my 16 th birthday, my father bought me a 1956 Crown Victoria with a blown 312. Tore the engine down but couldn't afford to have the crank turned so I sold it. Darn! Two years later I am in the Navy cruising off the coast of Viet Nam while our aircraft drop bombs on the bad guys. My how time flies.
American Graffitti was on the other night and I watched it, again. Great movie!
Later and Happy New Year!
Mr. Ed
