I guess that means I shouldn't post up a bunch of other obscure Shelby Dodge pictures. :-P

Re: obscure muscle

While the "imports" own the high performance youth market, they owe some of their existance to the SVO mustang, Turbo Coupe, Conquest TSI and the Dodge Daytona. I absolutely hate working on any front wheel drive, but if MR.Carroll Shelby owns and drives a Dodge Daytona ( and he does ) you have to give it some respect. And for the guy who mentioned the small '84 LTD, my dad did an engine swap for an older teacher at my school on one of those cars. He pulled out the original small block (255?) and put in a '70 351W -- she drove it the first time in the rain, spun a little sideways at a stoplight, which scared her into selling the car! I've secretly wanted one ever since.

The 255 went away in 1982. The 84-85 LTD LX used the 302.

Yes, there was a time (1980,81) when the 255 ci was the Mustang's top V8...

The early '80s Crossfire Trans Am would be a rare version these days, although I believe KITT used the much more common 4bbl 305.

I have a 1983 Mercury LN7 RS with 1.6 HO that I bought brand new. It was my first new car, so when the motor died, I parked it in the back of the garage. It's still back there under a pile of boxes. Someday I plan on putting a small block in it with mini tubs and a four link rear end.
