Fe cast iron headers

I got a fellow trading me alot of fe parts and money for a 406 motor . In the list is a set of cast iron long headers that I donot know what they came off of . I looked them up and thought well , I am sure someone here would have a idea .

The part number on one is c2 AE 8430-B ...Other is 63 AE 9431-D . The years are not as I see a correct match being 62 and 63 but anyone know where I can find the decode site of cast iron headers ?

Re: Fe cast iron headers

They are a matched set, as I have had a couple of sets of those, and they have always been C2 and C3's. The last set fetched $1000.00 for the pair.

Re: Fe cast iron headers

Yes, the shorties were used from 1960 to 1964 starting with the 60 352/360HP and ending with the first version of the 427. The longer tubes were used on the 1964/ 427 GALAXIES/MARAUDERS.

The casting ID C2AE and C3AE are most likely the evolution of the shorties to to later applications and both engineering numbers become Service PN C3AZ 9430 and C3AZ 9431 E.

I have a friend that has a set from a 61 390/375 and they of course have CIAE as the Casting ID numbers.
