So last weekend I'm in the garage working on the Falcon and my buddy Vince stops by with his two sons and the '47 Ford Coupe. They finally had it running good and needed a destination so they brought it over to my place. Vince tosses me the keys and away we go.
Tooled around the 'hood a bit and when we got back The Totally Awesome Missus Murff asked about burnouts. Vince says the car won't light 'em. I now have 20' of black strip in front of the house where I proved him wrong. Unfortunately no pics.
Phone rings this morning and it's FM member Flat32. He finally has the rearend replaced in his '32 Ford Coupe and asks if I'm going to be home.
A little while later up he rolls. Y'know,
nothing says
HOTROD like a Deuce. He tosses me the keys and away I go. This time the camera is near. That's me in the car upon my return and Ray (Flat32) with the 'Why did I let him drive it' look on his face.
We hung out in the garage a bit & chatted while The Totally Awesome Missus Murff mowed the lawn. 1st cut of the year and you know that stuff is tall. Anyway, Ray says take it for another spin. Longer this time, let it out a bit. 2 seconds into a fantasy of a 1/2 hour cruise I say Nah, how about Nancy takes it out? She could use a break.
Here's the Totally Awesome Missus Murff upon her return.
All she could say was 'That was fun! I want one!' Actually, she said that about twenty times over the next 1/2 hour. Had to take her out for burgers to get her mind of that Coupe.
The Deuce, without any humans in the picture.
I have great friends. They have cool cars. I love that.
