Re: One of the FM Family has passed

I'm shocked and terribly saddened by this news! I've talked to her a bit on this board and the HAMB. Condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed for sure. Happy thoughts to her on that big circle track in the sky.

Re: One of the FM Family has passed

My oh my, this is truly sad news. I could not believe what I was reading.
A friend and I were just making plans to go see her race in June at Raceway 7 and was really looking forward to cheering her on.
Jan was a 'Real Roots' down-to-earth type of person who knew what life is all about.
I wish her family the best and God bless and be with you Jan.
She'll be missed by many.
Robert

Re: One of the FM Family has passed

I actually had to read the notification twice to believe it, since my "concern and fear" thread was the last one she responded to, and I read just a few days ago. I never really looked at a forum like a place to immortalize your words, but I guess FM did just that. I am sitting here with a little bit of a tear in my eye, so sudden. She responded to alot of my stuff, wow.

Re: One of the FM Family has passed

Deb,

I am deeply saddened by the loss. Though I never met her myself I always admired her in the fact that you could tell from her posts that she was an old school hot rodder and always had great info to pass along. If you go back and look at the majority of her early posts you will see a few words that she wrote over and over. Those words were " dirt track " and " circle burner ".

I have nothing but respect for somebody who stays true to something on up to the very end.....r.i.p.

Re: One of the FM Family has passed

I "met" Jan the first day she came on FM many years ago, what was it, 2002? Always interesting.......

I guess it was 2003 when a bunch of the FM crew got together at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Suburban Detroit. Chuck/65460, Doug/FXComet, Doug/Highpockets, Steve-O, Chilly460, and several others. We rented the parking lot of an Arby's to have our own "private party" and to have a place to park our cars together.

Jan said she was going to bring her 64 Ford. So when this "late model" Lincoln Mark ___ pulled into the lot and backed into a space I walked over to tell them to get that POS out of my parking lot!

As I approached the Lincoln this rather interesting looking lady got out and said "You must be Greg....I'm Jan!"

Re: One of the FM Family has passed

The good Lord must have needed her good spirit and knowledge of Circle Track cars. I'm glad she went suddenly instead of something long and painful. My condolences to all of you who knew her best. I only exchanged chat on here with her a few times but always found her to be informed and fun.

Re: One of the FM Family has passed

So sorry to hear of Jan's passing. She was one of the good ones. She was about the same age as me. Makes one realize how short life can be.

RIP Jan.
