If Ford of GM put the same amount of technology in their v8's then they would blow the Japanese v6's out of the water, and vice versa, if the Japanese put the same amount of technology in their v6's then they would be a helluva lot slower. Ford is finally utilizing direct injection in their new EcoBoost engines and they're touting it up to be this great improvement when Japanese cars have been using the same technology in their cars for over 10 years. It's the same with the variable cam timing....

Re: new car!~!

Yeah I know it was a digg on ford for being 10 years behind everyone else maybe if they I dunno invested some money into their products and used new technology they might not be the number 3 automaker, or as pointed out in calspecs post even if they treated their customers right they might not be the number 3 but if I was to get a new a new car it would not be a ford.

Re: new car!~!

In January of '07 I owned a '06 Ford Lariat F150 Supercrew truck, a '06 Ford 500 Limited, a '07 Mustang GTCS & a '90 Mustang GT 5.0. I was thrilled with all of these vehicles quality & performance. Since going on fixed income the Ford 500 is all I have left, but if I came into some extra cash and wanted a new car it would have the blue oval on it. Just call it loyalty to an old friend.

Well golly.....I would assume you would be happy to buy another American made brand then...I Hope !!

Otherwise, you and all the others who support these imports are doing nothing but kicking the crutches out from under an already struggling nation. When are ya'll gonna wake up, and support the country you live in. Transition takes time. I am not saying we're not behind in technology, but for God sakes...how about helping your neighbor keep his job while we put our best efforts forward. Americans need to realize at this point in time, we all need to sacrifice a little to help right our nation. Maybe when you feel the hurt put on you by losing your American job, and cannot put food on your table to feed your young Family, you might think twice about what country/region you want to support. Sorry...but I for one will never buy an import long as my hands get blisters trying to keep the American automobile alive. And Hell yes...I work for Ford, and will continue to preach our product as well as any other US born and bred vehicle. The word here is "Buy American", or your just selling yourself, as well as your brother short. Be an American, and stand up for what you should believe in. That would be our great Nation. The Countries sending their Imports here are getting exactly what was forcasted by them. A weakened USA dollar, and more money in their pockets. Realize that our society has allowed themselves to be weakened through their own prosperity. Then that turned to greed, which turned to selfishness. And know we have ignorance. Our children are the ones who will pay the bitter price of our own ignorance. I don't want to be a part of that dreadful scenario.

I hope this will enlighten your feeble ideals.

Re: new car!~!

if an american car company produced a car that I would even consider driving, then I might would get one.

We live in a time of economies on a global scale. It is my opinion that people that think like you are the ones that are truly holding us back. Trying to produce and manufacture everything within our own country is a pipe-dream, thats not the way economics and society works. Its called a free market economy.

I am an American, and dont tell me otherwise just because I drive an "imported" car.

And why is this....Because Global Trade has allowed our once "rich" Great Nation to stumble. If we continue to support this type of lifestyle, then your children will have nothing American.

I am not calling you anything but American, but until you realize that your feeding the monster injecting thier poison here, you are going to be living in a crippled Nation...no longer a Super Power.

Pass1over: I personally believe anyone anywhere has the rite to buy & drive whatever they darn well please, but it is pretty brazen to rub the non Ford brand and anti Ford statements into the faces of members of a Ford related website.

I would personally love to hear about your Fords.
