Well put rommaster2, really thats all I have to say really fine post and it puts things into perspective, and I do love ford and if they brought some of their aussie cars to America, I would be on passovers ass about not getting one.

As mentioned before not only was infiniti designed for the american market, but most japanese automakers moved production to american factories. You are upset because people in the american automotive industries dont have as good of job security but the issue is not related to foreign automakers its the CEO's of the american companies trying to cut the largest profit.

I drive a pontiac for a daily driver, have another sitting in my garage for when the first quits and i have my Falcon which i drove daily for six months. I drove my cousins ford tempo (comparison towards my pontiac sunbird) yeah it was geared lower, but it got worse gas mileage and had less top end even with a bigger motor (heavier too). The sad thing is my pontiac is a POS. I've also driven newer fords at work, and i've got to say most of the ones i've driven (trucks and mustang aside) I have hated. If i were to buy an american car new it would be a GM product, but i doubt i will ever buy a new car again.

Also look at fords success in the foreign market, they do alot better in europe and australia but are faltering here even though many people after seeing the aussie cars wonder why they are not here.

I understand it is a hot topic, after all anytime peoples jobs and ways of life are put into jeopardy its a big deal. However you guys are going so far as to suggest that he is non american, and some of your posts even imply conspiracy by other countries to destroy us economically. I don't understand how you can say that when it is us who are destroying ourselves.

There is also mention of family values and tradition being left behind. I think that you are forgetting the basis of our capitalist (yeah the thing we faught so hard to spread instead of letting communism rule) government. It is a free market where the best (note that BEST) product wins (or at least what the buyer feels is best). There is no unfair advantage that the japanese have, in fact ford had the advantage of being on thier home turf and they failed before (in the 70's) and from there its been a struggle ever since for all the american automakers.

Perhaps instead of sowing the seeds of discord amongst ourselves we should be focusing on good things and complimenting this gentleman on his fine new car, yes its not a ford, yes its not an american brand (note i did not say it wasn't american made) but it still is a piece of solid engineering.
