Any funny story's from high school ? car or not
I can see this one in my little mind like it was yesterday. When in high school auto shop (a very long time a go) we could bring our car into shop on Fridays and work on them. Late in the hour, the nerd brought his mothers Nash Metropolitan in class to change the oil. Well he changed the oil...but for got to install the pan plug. That was a day that I learned some new words that I never heard before from a grownup !

Re: Any funny story's from high school ? car or not
Ok Bob, Here are three short ones -
The time I dropped a cherry bomb in the commode in the boys room. It blew the commode to pieces. Cost my Dad $150.00 and I couldn't sit down for a couple of days.
The time a friend & I put a black snake in the teachers desk. She opened the drawer and immediately fainted. Two days suspension and I couldn't sit down for two more days.
The time I stuffed a potato in the school bus tailpipe. It blew out and hit the vice principal in the leg. Two days suspension and I couldn't sit down for two days.

Re: Any funny story's from high school ? car or not
Bob: If you want to go back to the third grade in grammer school -
I was running around playing catch & ran through the legs of this seventh grade girl. She told the principal I looked up her dress. The principal cut my tail at school and my Dad cut my tail again when I got home. Now that was cruel & unusual punishment to a kid who had no idea what was under a dress and wasn't interested in looking there to find out. However after two tail cuttings I figured there must be something up there that was mighty important.

Re: Any funny story's from high school ? car or not
The weather got bad one winter day at school. I think I was in 11th grade...maybe 12th (been too long to remember...)
Anyway, there was a coating of nice wet snow on the ground and because it's arkansas and we don't get much snow (maybe an inch a year if we're lucky), the faculty let us get away with snowball fights. Most of them even got involved. Well, this wet snow can be packed nice & tight, and it hurts like he!! when ya get hit with one (experience speaking). Now keep in mind that I was a pitcher for the HS team....probably could have gone on to play college and eventually pro ball (had the scouts giving me a pretty hard look) but I went to work instead. Anyway, me and about 3-4 others were having a little snowball fight and the vice principal got jumped in. He was pretty cool guy but a jackass at the same time. Well, it got pretty heavy, we were throwing pretty hard at each other. I grabbed a handfull of snow, packed it tight, and just threw it as hard as I could at the VP, hitting him in the temple and knocking him out cold. Thought I killed the guy because he was bleeding pretty good. To this day he still has a scar on the left temple from the stitches.
No one ratted me out! I can't believe I got away with that without at least a little suspension.
Another good one we had in auto shop. We had rebuilt a 318 Mopar for a shop-owned '84 1/2 ton truck. We had it up on the chain hoist just sitting there, instructor was gone that day and a sub filled in. The sub had no idea what she was supposed to be teaching so we just fooled around in the classroom doing very very little. Well, one of the guys wanted to hear the motor run. So they hooked up a battery and enough ignition components to get it to run, filled the carb with fuel and cranked it up. Sounded real good idling. One of those morons was working the throttle and the other holding the sides of the motor to keep it from moving around. Well, they revved it a couple times, one time the free end of the chain got wrapped around the damper and the motor tried to climb the chain. Now, I'm standing back and watching this and thinking to myself "you idiots".....I was not involved with it (I was actually putting cam bearings in, or trying to....). Everyone involved got off scott free, but ruined the damper, bent the end of the crank, broke the chain, broke the exhaust manifolds, dinged up a few things on the outside..and probably a bunch of other stuff that I never knew of (I changed classes mid semester).
