Re: Iron Powder

i see 98% pure iron, what more do you want

however if i were you before you purchased anything go to an autoparts store that does flywheel resurfacing, and ask to look at there machine, then see if they will let you have the "slduge" that is in it, that is the iron powder i am talking about, though it might not all be iron as different flywheels are different material, but once the stuff dries out could be sorted out fairly easy with a magnet.

Re: Iron Powder

The dust from the surfacing stone is not collected in my shop... It's so fine it blows to the floor and get's swept up.

Lathe scrapings are WAY too huge. I think that $95 dollar crap is what you need for your 'speriments Professor.

Gotta get a second job to pay for it though... Then shipping is gonna kick yer butt

Re: Iron Powder

Rub your arse crack acrosss the flight deck of the Kittyhawk and trail behind a magnet to pick up the particles...

You might get sore but that's peobably the only place to find micron sized Iron particles unless you go out to the deserts of southern Utah and dig in the RED soil. That's Iron Oxide mineral in it's raw form...

Re: Iron Powder

10 micron in 1lb lots. He'd probably make a deal on 10lbs.
