The media loves to diss Ford!!!

I saw in the news yesterday that CNN was reporting on Ford Motor Company. They were posting that sales were down 28% for June and FSeries has slipped to number 5 behind Honda, Toyota and some other Jap crap. My point is, where are these reports when Toyota recalls more vehicles that it sells (last year in the US) and GM sales or cash position at critical levels, or Chrysler on life support? Why do they lead with negative automotive stories when the news is bad out of Ford? I have always said,"as long a women keep buying jap crap, and the husbands lose their testacles, the big three are in trouble". As for me, I have owned and always will own, Ford Products, and if the US automakers sturggle, it won't be on my head. Here is a thought, why does Ford not launch the 09 F-150 with an EPA of 24 City and 30 Hwy? Let's see the Japs match that with the "Gas Guzzling" Toy Tundra!!!! As for the media, they can kiss my yaktiba!!!!

Ford isn't helping themselves but saying "Our quality is the same as Toyota's now." in their new commercials. What they really should say is that it's better. I think Mulley needs to invest in buying out the VW marketing dept. since let's face it, their commercials are awesome.

I think ford should fire all there design team .The problem with ford is if it wasn't for the Mustang and F- series the fords are totally unappealing. they should be able to make an economy car that don't look like a **** box every body else does .If you look at what they are trying to sell then ask your self will this draw people from the other side . I wonder who they think will get excited over a crap can like a focus. I think the fords are up there in quality but the styling leaves a lot to be desired .

But to compare yourself to a toyota in the 1980's and 90's would have been good, but to do it now day's when Toyota isn't on top anymore, is just poor business...

Other than the plug malfunction I love the Ford trucks but they have got to add some styling to the new cars. I see cars out there that are sporty or weird and different and find out they are only a honda or something but Fords are all basically the same, jelly beans.
Get some designers that can design something new and different and not trying to re-introduce the mustangs of the past. Granted the Mustangs are nice but what are we going to look back on that exists today in 40 yrs and say "that was a cool car"? I can't think of any right off the top of my head.

Even a cool 2 seater would be great for the younger crowd and some that done shoved the little boogers out of the nest and can now have a 2 seater again.

I gotta say that I agree with some of your comments, however, I think that the Fusion and Taurus are as nice as anything in their segment. (Egg shaped as that segment goes) But the new Focus is freak'n ugly with no imagination at all!!! What I don't understand is this, Honda and Toyota's are the most plain jellybean cars that I have ever seen. With their "Big Screen" speedometer and nothing else to look at, how the h*ll did they ever get volume? I mean that the ugliest Ford is as nice as any Honda or Toy or Nissan!!!

No company should ever say their quality is as good as the competition because it implies that the competition is better since they only now caught up to them. In the world of advertising, when it comes to the competition, the saying is if you don't have anything BAD to say, then don't say it. Instead, Ford should say their cars are of higher quality than Toyota's, not that Ford has the same quality.
