Dealer ?

Let's say a guy buys a used car from a dealer. After taking the car home, the buyer finds that the owner's manual is not there. Is the dealer responsible for providing an owner's manual, or should the purchaser just shell out the cash one?

Re: Dealer ?

generally when you buy a used vehicle, it is sold as-is. So if you sign the papers and you don't have something...normally you just have to ante up and buy one.

BUT that said, lots of times if you call the stealership and tell them that you don't have a manual, they will give you one. Sometimes they don't...so just be prepared.

Re: Dealer ?

In some states by law the owners manual must stay with the vehicle. Safety thing.

Re: Dealer ?

That's funny. I was kind of thinking along the lines of "as is" means as is. Then again I was also thinking that the owner's manual had to stay with the car.
