If it weren't for bad luck.....

I'd have no luck at all....

My 17y.o. son called last night at 10:30 and woke the wife and I up.... He was on the way home from work and had 3 deer cross in front of the truck on the highway... the 4th one was a little behind and ended up in the grill.

Now for the positive side of things
1-my son is OK
2-my truck is still drivable (he's driving my truck as his car isn't finished yet)
3-my truck is in need of a paint job and I hadn't painted it yet
4- the sheet metal is ok... I just need a new bumper and mounts, grill, and right headlight......aftermarket parts are less than $300
5- the bumper bent the core support slightly but the radiator, AC condenser, and tranny cooler are ok.

Glad everything turned out ok. Hitting a deer can be lethal... we only have illegals here to worry about hitting here in TX.

that sucks man, didnt you have brake problems with your dodge not to long ago, due to a wheel coming off?

Might be a good thing his car isn't done if you are talking about the halfpint car. Glad to hear he's ok and all is well. Lucky on the truck damage also!

Geez, that sucks.... Well hey, that's free venison that you didn't have to sit out and freeze in the cold for hours to shoot.... I'll buy some venison jerky from ya if you can make it.... ;-)

I can't help but think of a people's court case between 2 sisters. One hit a deer with the others car, she then offered the deer as payment.

I bet the deer is worth more than $300

glad it wasnt worse...my brother in Colorado hit a cow of all things- range cattle out there can stroll onto the highway- they might not move fast as a deer, but my guess is his reflexes might have been a little slow due to something he drank...just a guess, or maybe it was a really fast cow
anyway, it actually broke the a-pillar and folded half the roof back on his car, covered him in blood and cow sh...stuff- luckily noone was with him and passenger side took the hit.
