Bob, your dog's loss can be another dog's gain. Take your granddaughter with you to your local (or not so local) animal shelter. Find a dog that looks like he was meant for you both, and adopt him/her to a happy panting smile! You will NEVER see an animal so gratefull as one that has been given a chance to live. I remember all those animals they rescued after hurricane Katrina. They would put cats, dogs, hogs, and whatever in the rescue boat together, and they were cool with it because all they cared about was the salvation. Let us know what you do.

Thanks........our dog was from a person that could not keep it any longer, so we took it in to our home with all the love that it could of ever consumed. Time will tell if get another dog, but it well be a homeless dog if we do it again. I will up date this post when if we get a another dog.

Well we did it.....we found a Lab on the internet at a animal shelter that was almost a 2 hour drive. We jumped in the truck and checked it out, a 7 month old guy that has a mix of English Shepard. Well the rest is history,this Lab is one happy camper, this pup likes me and is at my side at all times and cry's when I leave the house. I have no idea why he likes me so....the wife said it is because I smell like a dog.
