ported smogger heads

I am swapping heads out and decided to flow my old D8OE heads that I did a little porting on last year. Still using the stock 1.78/1.45 valves in there I will compare them to a later model E7TE since I don't have flow numbers on my heads as stock.

stock E7te
in .100 .200 .300 .400 .500
52 95 132 141 154
ex 39 74 98 104 107
ported D8oe
in 49 97 139 166 179
ex 41 72 105 127 138

Not terribly impressive but not too bad for basically just bowl work in the intake and knocking out the smog bumps on the exhaust. At least it was good enough to run 8.65 in the 1/8 in my 86 mustang with 8.25:1 compression. That equates to about 13.6 in the quarter.

I have a set of D2OE heads cut for 1.94/1.5 valves that I will be putting on the flowbench soon.

Can 1.94/1.5 valves be cut into D8 heads and newer?

Thanks.
