ACID PORTING

this process is very dangerous . all porting should be done totally sober. And dont forget your safety glasses.

ACID PORTING

Friend of ours has talked about it. They run roundy-round stuff and their class rules state "no porting"...... This is where acid porting comes into play. The ports look totally stock, but are in fact "hogged out" by the acid. That's how they measure the ports around here, just a visual to make sure the die grinder hasn't molested them.

ACID PORTING

remember this sometimes less is more! More velocity = more power than a runner that is to large.....match everything up and it should work well. I wished I could help with acid porting, have heard a bunch of it but never have seen it done! good luck

ACID PORTING

Do a test... this might work!!!

Port a nice cast head, then get some rough grade blasting crystals, and after smoothing out the port work hit it with the blasting crystals. They will get a nice rough cast look to them if you do it just right...

ACID PORTING

They submerge the ports with Nitric acid. The nitric acid solution concentration is known, as is the rate at which the acid will eat the material. Once the ports are eatin' enough, the acid is removed and the port is neutralized, and you're done!

Its pretty common in the aerospace industry.
