How much $$$ for a professional porting job?

No A3 heads, that's the raised runner head right? Which intake do you have?
Anytime I get a head that I haven't ported before, I do a rubber mold of the port so I can "see" it and find trouble areas. I dont charge for this cause you are paying me to do the best job I can.
I am very aware of how those heads flow though, but have not done one yet.

How much $$$ for a professional porting job?

ou812 Brian,
The A3 is one of the earlier heads by Motorsport. It is not the Yates which has the raised port but it is like the cleveland except it has the floor filled. I currently have the A331 Roush/Motorsport intake, however it does not match the port in width only in height. Do you know if you can convert a 2991 or 2961 ect. to match the A3? What kind of numbers are the A3 heads good for?
What kind of numbers do you need for 408 inches @ 7000 with 13.5 compression?
Thanks

Quality work costs $$$. Go pay some jamoke $50 and see what you end up with or better yet why dont you do a set yourslf and see how much time it takes, what equipment costs (cutters can be $100 Ea), buy yourself a flow bench, Etc. !! Belive it or not you can make a head flow worse if you don't know what you are doing.

Welcome to Racing !! You need to see what Kasse or Yates Charge..........

In order for you to preserve your sanity I would recommend looking at a set of aftermarket heads that are already finished with decent flow #'s (Edelbrocks, Brodix, TFS AFR's Etc.). Unless you have some class rules most stock stuff sucks and you don't seem to be willing to pay the price to make them work.

Just my 2 cents.........

Pinto, I get just over 2.6 sq. in. for a min. cross section in the intake port to make max HP at 7000 rpm. So I would say you need somewhere around 350-370 cfm at .700-.750 lift to make good power. You dont NEED that much flow, but theoretically that's about whay it would take. There are more factors than this, so all things need to be looked at together.
This is a 4" stroker right?

Brian, Yes it is a 4" stroke, also has a .745 lift, the heads I have flow just under 360 cfm, however the intake port width is narrow compared to the head but the head also has the pushrod in the side causing a little smaller width down the runner.

Can you measure your min. cross section? It's probably at the pushrod pinch. Take a roof to floor measurement, and side measurement and multiply them then minus about .125 for corner radius. That is usually very close and will give you an idea of the rpm capability and also tell you how efficient the head is by comparing the throat sq.in. to the push rod pinch.

Ive used this guy on several builds in the past. His prices were very reasonable ( OK theyre cheaper than everyone! ) and I was able to get a full porting job done with parts out the door for $650 flow sheet included. He's got 40 + years experience porting race heads in PA for circle track racers. That $ 650 included valves with me sending the springs. He charges actual wholesale for parts. Like I said I have had many sets of head ported by him in the past and have referred dozens of folks to him . They were all pleased silly. You can pay someone else more and I'm sure they'll do good work but Les does just as good and the prices can't be beat.

How much $$$ for a professional porting job?

This for ou812,
Do you remember the flow numbers you were able to get from the 2v aussie heads? Also what were the intake port size in cc's? I'm thinking about putting these on a 306 and I'm wondering how they will flow down low for street driving? I have a B&A performance street boss manifold I'll be using with these and a 650 holley. Thanks for any info you can give me, theres not to many articles about these heads and manifolds that I have seen personally but I just think this looks like a great combo for power and steetability. It's also something different than all the aftermarket bandwagon heads. Not that theres anything wrong with running aftermarket I guess I just like to see different set-ups on engines.
