Porting 351W heads

Hello,

I have a 351W and would like to port the heads.

Specific question.
I can imagine that the intake flow gains much horses, because suction on the intake is vacuum from zero upto minus 0,xx bar.

However exhaust flow, flows from approx 8 bar combustion to zero. I can imagine that a 40 or 50 cfm improvement does wake any horses, and if just a few.

Anyone ever seen dyno's from intake tuning only and exhaust tuning only. So the realtion to the increased cfm of the port to the horses can be made.

Intake and exhaust work together. You can just port the intake, but if exhaust flows poorly, cylinders will not evacuate and volumetric efficiency suffers. I have my engine apart and I plan to take some pics of the ports on my ported '70 351 heads that I wished I took before I put it together 3 years ago. I hope to post the pics soon.

Fords have some nasty exhause issues to begin with. JUST porting the exhaust on 351W heads will get you some noticeable power.
