Has anybody done any yet. I did a basic port cleanup on the intake and saw very little improvement on the flow bench. It appears that the bowl is the big restriction. any ideas?

Those can flow pretty well, but you have to port them, meaning they need some metal moved!
Cleanup will not do much. Take measurements at the port opening, port short turn, and throat I.D. and see what you come up with.
It's fairly easy to get 30cfm out of them with minimal work...after that you have to get busy with moving lots of metal.

Brian Thanks for the info. To explain a little farther. I took the bulge out of the roof, cleaned up the floor and straightened the short turn some to get a straighter shot at the valve, and cleaned up the bowel between the seat down past the guide. I only picked up 5 cfm. So I a was litttle puzzled at the small gain

There's a restriction there...gotta look hard for it. This is why I get paid the big money!!
