went a little too far, gotta fix?

guess I over did it just a little on the porting- so now I gotta fix this. These are the aluminum Ford GT-40X heads. Removed some material around the pushrod holes, everything was fine till I went over the area lightly sanding by hand for some fine tuning and noticed a tiny scratch going through the port into the pushrod hole.

Now I really don't think this is entirely my fault, it happened right at the seam/middle of the wall adjacent to the pushrod hole. If you've ever seen the inside of a GT-40X port you'd know the finish is pretty crappy, along the length of the middle of the vertical walls is a seam with lots of casting mess, I think what happened is there was always a void in the aluminum and I hit it. It's about 1/10" long and only as wide as a scratch.

What would be the best way to fix it? I was told by the local speed shop/machine shop they could get it right with epoxy, does that sound legit?

thanks

I have heard of guys putting brass tubing in kept there with epoxy when that happens.

K&S sells thinwall tubing.
It an be found a good hobbie shops.

You may need to slightly ream/ drill the pushrod hole to come out with a good tight fit.

I have done several Edelbrock heads.

I slightly heated the heads and used a large bolt through the sleeve as a driver and pressed them in with a air hammer set down really low. Works great

great I think I can handle that- only problem is the GT-40X heads have oval pushrod holes but I think I can get something to work.

Used a piece of 17/32" brass tubing, squeezed it in a vise a little to make it oval and it fit just about perfect. That and some epoxy and it looks good to go.
